EduPop! will explore various representations of teachers and educators as they appear in media: novels, movies, television shows, music, etc. Some representations are wonderful, some terrible but all are presented for fun!
Annalise Keating
How to Get Away with Murder
ABC Television 2014 – 2020
Lie to your students. Manipulate them. Control them. Lord your power over them. Put them in compromising positions. Pit them against one another. Break the law with them. Commit murder with them. Encourage them to do morally bankrupt things.
Or don’t!
Annalise Keating, played brilliantly by the incredible Viola Davis on ABC Television’s How to Get Away with Murder is the worst instructor one can imagine. She has done all of the above – and more – for self interest and has ruined the lives of her students, her friends, and herself.
This current season is the last of the show and it will be interesting to see if her chickens come home to roost…
When you think of what you should do as a teacher, think of Annalise.
Then do the opposite that she would!
